responding to COVID and funding the future
Paul Courtney, Fundraising Advisor to the District
Saturday 17th October – 10am – 12noon, ZOOM
COVID has changed everything for our churches and ministries in 2020.
One thing that hasn’t changed is the need to fund all we do in worship and witness.
In this online webinar, Paul will explore some of the key areas of fundraising and income generation, help unpack your church’s ‘Fundraising Case for Support’, find those that will fund your work, prepare a strong application to a funder and help continue to raise the funds you need.
If you wish to attend this course, please contact the District Administrative Officer, Louise Martin at email@example.com by 9a.m. on Wednesday, 14th October 2020.
We are seeking an Outreach Worker to work in Tiverton area of the Tiverton & Wellington Methodist Circuit.
For the last 3 years we have employed 2 part-time Outreach workers to develop and improve the churches contact with their community.
The person who has been working in the Tiverton area has moved on to a full-time role, so we are seeking someone to continue and develop this work.
In the current environment it is more difficult to make contact with community groups so the work will inevitably be about strengthening the church.
You will be a vital part in continuing our work with young families and individuals as well as working across all the age groups and sectors, encouraging our Church’s reach in to the community.
We are looking for you to provide valuable support to existing activities, including toddler and pre-school groups plus other meeting groups whilst raising these groups’ profiles.
You will be able to encourage the church members to work out their faith and develop relationships with each other.
You will need to be a comfortable and confident communicator. This is particularly relevant at this time when meetings are suspended.
You must be a practising Christian and happy to attend different Methodist Churches across the circuit on occasion. Tiverton United Church will expect your attendance at their worship from time to time.
You will need a clean, current driving licence and your transport and mileage business expenses will be reimbursed.
An enhanced DBS is essential as is a full awareness of the issues relating to the safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults.
A salary of £7488 is based on a 15 hour working week, or two days per week at £9.60 per hour. Flexibility is required with your working hours, and they will certainly include some evenings and weekends.
Please request Application and Job description from Tracy at the Circuit Office (firstname.lastname@example.org ). Only short listed candidates will be invited to interviews. Closing date for applications Friday 16th October 2020
