NOMINATIONS FOR WORLD METHODIST COUNCIL 2011-2016
The Methodist Church is inviting nominations from Districts for the World Methodist Council 2011-2016. Those chosen would attend the World Methodist Council meeting, followed by the Conference in Durban, South Africa, 1-8 August 2011.
The numbers we can send may be smaller than our full allocation due to financial constraints, so we are looking for people who would be able to serve on the WMC for the whole of the period 2011-2016. The constitution of the WMC is currently under review, but those nominated will need to be available to attend two meetings of the Council during the quinnquenium if required, as well as sitting on one of the Council's sub-committees, which include the following areas of work: ecumenics and dialogue, education, evangelism, family life, social and international affairs, theological education, worship and liturgy, youth.
If you are aware of anyone who would like to be considered for membership of the Council please submit a 50 word reasoned statement, indicating which committee/s they would be interested in, to secretary Anne Vautrey (contact details below) by 15 March 2010.
We are also looking for nominations for the role of Exchange of Pastorates Secretary, from July 2011, working with the current Secretary from September 2010. If you are aware of any one who may be interested in this job please ask them to forward a reasoned statement by 15 March 2010.
If you or anyone interested in serving the church in this way require further information, or for the postal address to send a statement, please contact Anne Vautrey on
