Revd John Carne Chairman of the District
John Carne has been Chairman of the Plymouth and Exeter District since 2002. Having previously worked as a teacher, he trained for the ministry at Wesley College, Bristol and served in circuits in Bristol and Bedfordshire.
His role as chairman is as a pastor, encourager and supporter of those in ministry, working with the District Team to offer practical help and advice to advance the churches mission and being particularly involved in the stationing of ministers.
Revd Dave Martin District Evangelism Enabler
Dave Martin joined the leadership team in September 2006. His main role is to encourage churches to tackle evangelism - helpfully defined as "making more disciples of Jesus Christ". Dave preaches regularly, leads church and circuit weekends and days on mission and he is really enthusiastic about the way in which God is at work in the churches across the District.
Mr. Keith Elliott Training and Development Officer
Keith Elliott has been the District Training and Development Officer for the past six years. His role is to support Churches and Circuits to develop and grow and to develop opportunities in Mission and Outreach.
This could include anything from working with a Church to develop a particular project, offering specific training ranging from pastoral care to safeguarding, to enabling churches or circuits to work through times of difficulty. Keith provides an annual training programme and Resource Pack for the District. From September 2008 his title will change to District Development Enabler.
