"Proximity" is a two day national gathering hosted by the Eden Network on 25 and 26 May 2012 at The Sanctuary, Salford Quays.
A movement is happening, a movement of God's people. This movement is bringing the church into much closer proximity with communities that have experienced decades of social decay. This movement is simultaneously bringing transformation to broken lives, and restoring authenticity to Christian discipleship.
It's a real movement because it's impossible to say who its leader is. It's a real movement because no single group or organisation can take credit for it. It's a real movement because it's growing in size and significance according to a momentum and energy that come from within. For the last 15 years the Eden Network has been participating in this movement; stepping out, having a go, learning lessons.
Over this time we've come to see the breadth of ministry that is caught up within the movement: Incarnational Living; Church Planting; Urban Youth Ministry; Missional Community; Urban Church. Proximity 2012, hosted by the Eden Network, will bring these streams together in one place for two days of vision, conversation, inspiration and celebration. Proximity will be light-hearted and yet intelligent; fast-paced and yet reflective; boundary-pushing and yet affirming. If you're a leader or practitioner in any of these five overlapping areas of ministry Proximity is for you.
The event features guest speakers Dave Ferguson, Andy Hawthorne, Nims Obunge and Patrick Regan and will be hosted by Matt Wilson, director of the Eden Network.
The cost of the whole event will be £45, with a £5 reduction if booked by the end of March. Day tickets for each individual day are £25 and there are a limited number of tickets for the Friday evening celebration available for £5. Bookings can be made at online here.
